L'album che mi accingo a commentare è uno dei più belli della discografia della band floridiana: Riverine.
Dal debut album Within the Depths of a Darkened Forest a Riverine gli Autumn's Grey Solace hanno aggiustato la mira, abbellendo le armonie vocali (la voce di Erin Welton è capace di notevoli escursioni di registro) e coniando un proprio sound, senza sintetizzatori.
Nel brano che apre l'album, Human Shell, la voce di Erin Welton stende melodie estatiche sulle lenzuola delle chitarre e delle linee ritmiche di Scott Ferrell.
L'arrangiamento più bello lo sfodera Falling Sky, a mio avviso il brano più bello del disco e uno dei più belli in assoluto degli Autumn's Grey Solace: la raffinata armonia vocale e la chitarra, pregna di echi e riverberi, raggiungono il culmine dell'estasi.
In Dormant la voce di Erin Welton tocca vertici di puro delirio onirico, sostenuta in punta di piedi dalla strumentazione di Scott Ferrell.
Brezze vellutate di chitarra e oniriche armonie vocali caratterizzano Sorrow Ashes, mentre dense atmosfere, sostenute dalla voce cullante di Erin Welton, popolano A Tangle Of Scars.
In Outlive, sono tessute atmosfere morbide e solari con la voce di Erin che trafigge il cuore.
Cold And Empty Constellations è avvolta in spirali di voci celestiali, costellate da una chitarra stellare.
L'arrangiamento di Hollow Girl è particolare: la voce paradisiaca di Erin Welton è sostenuta da accordi cristallini di mandolini e chitarre elettriche.
Decisamente dark è The Unshakable Demon, in cui sono combinate alla perfezione atmosfere melanconiche ed elettrizzanti ad un tempo.
Eclipse e Cloudburst sono entrambi caratterizzati da ardite linee ritmiche e da evoluzioni spettacolari delle chitarre di Scott Ferrell.
Chiude l'album Inward Bound, ritmico, con dolci fraseggi vocali.
L'album è immerso in atmosfere sempre più eteree e gli elementi del sound che regna in questo disco hanno subito un processo di maturazione tale, da allontanarli dai residui fascini della musica dei Cocteau Twins.
La strumentazione acustica ed elettrica crea efficaci sottofondi alla bellissima voce di Erin Welton, che rende il pop crepuscolare delle loro canzoni sempre più gradevole.

The album i'm going to comment is one of the most beautiful in the floridan band's discography: Riverine.
From the debut album Within the Depths of a Darkened Forest to Riverine the Autumn's Grey Solace have adjusted the target, embellishing the vocal harmonies (the voice of Erin Welton is capable of severe change in registry) and coining a own sound, without synthesizers.
In the song, that opens the album, Human Shell, the voice of Erin Welton extends ecstatic melodies on the sheets of the guitars and of the rhythmic lines of Scott Ferrell.
The most beautiful arrangement pulls Falling Sky, in my opinion the most beautiful song of the disc and one of the most beautiful tracks of Autumn's Grey Solace: the refined vocal harmony and the guitar, full of echoes and reverberations, reach the peak of ecstasy.
In Dormant the voice of Erin Welton touches tops of pure delirious dream, supported on tiptoe from the instrumentation Scott Ferrell.
Velvety breezes of guitar and dreamy vocal harmonies characterize Sorrow Ashes, while dense atmospheres, supported by the lulling voice of Erin Welton, populate A Tangle Of Scars.
In Outlive, are woven soft and solar atmospheres, with the voice of Erin, that pierces the heart.
Cold And Empty Constellations is wrapped in spirals of heavenly voices, punctuated by a stellar guitar.
The arrangement of Hollow Girl is special: the heavenly voice of Erin Welton is supported by crystalline agreements of electric guitars and mandolins.
Definitely dark is The Unshakable Demon, which combine perfectly melancholy atmospheres and electrifying at the same time.
Eclipse and Cloudburst are both characterized by bold rhythmic lines and spectacular evolutions of the guitars of Scott Ferrell.
Closes the album Inward Bound, rhythmic, with gentle vocal phrasing.
The album is immersed in an atmosphere increasingly ethereal and the elements of sound, that reigns on this record, have undergone a process of such maturation by distancing them from remaining charms of the music of Cocteau Twins.
The acoustic and electric instrumentation creates effective substrates to the beautiful voice of Erin Welton, which makes the crepuscolar pop of their songs more and more pleasant.
